Cheer laundry detergent is one of the major brands of detergent available, and can be found in most stores.
It markets itself as fresh smelling, and a laundry brightener, while also being affordable. It has also recently been rebranded as a product that can also keep clothes colorful.
It is manufactured by Procter & Gamble, and comes in several formulations including HE, a special formulation for dark colored clothing, and free and gentle version.
When Cheer recently rebranded it cut out some scents and varieties, including the powder version of free and clear, the linen scent, and the Cheer with "bleach alternative." None of these are now available.
There are now just two scents available, fresh scent and scent free. Further, it comes in the liquid version for both scents in regular and HE, but the only powdered version now available is for the fresh scent.
Further, in early 2011 Cheer powder detergent (along with all Procter & Gamble powder detergents) was reformulated to be more compact, meaning that the box size was reduced for the same number of loads. This has caused many people to assume they raised the price, since the price remained the same for a smaller box. However, the amount of loads that could be washed with the powder remained the same.
