So, what do you do when you drip that melted chocolate from your dipped strawberry onto the living room carpet, or that chocolate bar melts all over your child's fingers and you can't catch her fast enough before she seems to touch everything in sight?

Just remember that the key to removing these stains is that you have to deal both with the chocolate and the cream that are within the stain to completely remove it from items around your home.
Step 1: Scrape off any excess chocolate from the fabric, being careful not to spread the stain further.
Step 2: Pretreat the stain with a laundry stain remover.
Step 3: Launder in the hottest water allowed for the fabric to thoroughly remove the chocolate stain, using either chlorine bleach if the fabric will allow it, or color safe bleach if not.
Hint: Make sure the stain is gone after washing, but before you place in the dryer or you may set the stain. Repeat if necessary.

Step 4: Next, blot at the stain until the liquid is absorbed.
