When we think about our dishwasher normally we think of how it cleans our dishes.

But there are a lot of things that run through this appliance which make it necessary to clean it on a regular basis, to help it run its best.

First, there are the dirty dishes running through it, which can contribute to food stains, and greasy residue building up. Plus, those food scraps and moist conditions can lead to food-borne bacteria and mold and mildew growing in this space.

In addition, the soap and detergent you run through there can cause build up itself, not to mention the fact that the water itself can contain minerals which build up (such as hard water), and iron, causing rust stains.

Therefore, it is nice to have a product which does many things, from removing limescale and rust, but also that cleans and disinfects the appliance.

There are several commercial products available which are designed for cleaning this important appliance, and I would like to hear from you giving your reviews of these products.

Please tell me which product you used, and whether you liked it or not. Also tell me approximately how old your dishwasher is, and why you needed to clean it (ex. a smell, hard water build up, etc.)
