Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker Cleaner Review - Now Coffee Tastes As Good As The First Time

by Eileen
(Bloomington, IN)

Eileen has shared her Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker Cleaner review.

Eileen says:

A few years ago I picked up a high quality Mr. Coffee Programmable coffee maker because a large amount of coffee is consumed in my household. I wanted to invest into a unit that would last a long time, so money was not an option.

However, in order to ensure a quality tasting cup out of every use I decided to invest in a coffee maker cleaning product as well, because it was advised to me by a friend.

With this in mind I opted to use the recommended Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker Cleaner which carries the same name as the actual coffeemaker itself. Since this product was recommended by the manufacturer I knew it would not destroy my expensive machine and it does the job well.

There is no trace of foul odors or more importantly any unusual after taste after using the product, and the coffee tastes just as good as the first day I used the machine.

I find this cleaner easily on Amazon.com, and it came with enough cleaning product to last me a few months. In addition, the price was reasonable so I usual order it in bulk.

Now I typically use this cleaner once or twice a month, because we consume a lot of coffee in my household so we clean the coffeemaker frequently to ensure a good tasting cup.

Not That Impressed With Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker Cleaner

by Mickie
(Carson City, NV)

Mickie has shared her experiences with the Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker Cleaner.

Mickie says:

I used Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker Cleaner after trying and having no luck with every other coffeemaker cleaner at the store.

The Mr. Coffee brand was the most expensive, so I figured maybe it would work better than the others, especially as it came from the supposed “coffee experts.” I was wrong.

The cleaner did absolutely nothing for the hot plate inside the tank or the parts I could see within the brewing area. The hot plate was still stained dark brown, the filter where the water comes out was still clogged with coffee residue, and the rest of the interior parts still had oily stains on them.

The coffeemaker (I have a Hamilton Beach Brew Station 10-cup) did not work any faster and the coffee did not taste any fresher or less bitter than before I cleaned the pot. I have no idea what is supposed to happen, but I was pretty disappointed in spending $11.00 for a package of coffeemaker cleaner that does nothing discernible.

I am starting to think that the concept of having to clean a coffeemaker is a gimmick by the coffeemaker manufacturers to get consumers to give them more money!

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your experiences Mickie.

Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker Cleaner Doesn't Have That Horrible Smell Like Vinegar

by Chandra
(Trenton, NJ)

Chandra has shared her review of Mr. Coffee Coffeemaker Cleaner.

Chandra says:

I use Mr. Coffee once a month or about every thirty pots of coffee for cleaning my machine.

I like my Mr. Coffee 12 cup automatic cup coffee maker. I keep the machine in good shape by cleaning it every thirty pots or so with the Mr. Coffee cleaner.

I used to use vinegar but really got tired of that horrible smell.

I purchase my coffee maker cleaner in a pack of 9 from Walmart. It is not the cheapest way to clean it but it is the easiest and most effective in my opinion. It removes the water mineral buildup and speeds up the percolating. I also noticed it takes out the bitter taste in my coffee by removing the coffee's oil residue buildup in the machine.

I have noticed this product is a bit over priced on the internet and recommend being careful about what you actually spend.

This product really does improve brewing time and leaves you with a better tasting pot of coffee. It is worth the money and I do recommend it.

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your review Chandra.

You make a good point, that this product can be high priced off the Internet. I have provided a link below to a way to purchase it through Amazon.com, but as with all products on Amazon make sure how much the shipping costs, to really determine how much the product costs. If the shipping is excessive it really isn't a good deal.

So, have you used a coffee maker cleaner and liked (or disliked) it? If so, I would love for you to share your review. You can share your coffee maker cleaners review here, or read other reviews that have already been submitted.
