Palmolive Dish Detergent Review - Lemon Scented Gel

by Hillary
(Cheyenne, Wyoming)

Hillary has shared her Palmolive dish detergent review, of the lemon scented gel.

Hillary says:

I prefer dishwasher detergent gel for cleaning my dishes, instead of using powder or pacs. The gel dissolves quickly and easily and never leaves streaks or clumps of soap anywhere.

In the past I have been accused of cleaning the dishes too much before putting them in the dishwasher. "That's what the dishwasher is for," they say, or "the things in the dishwasher are too clean, we need to know that they're dirty."

Well, thanks to Palmolive, I no longer feel the need to remove every morsel before putting a plate, bowl or other container in the dishwasher.

In the past, morsels on the dishes before washing meant morsels on the dishes after washing and even more gross, after the "sanitizing."

Fortunately for this dishwashing gel not everyone in my household felt the need to clean their dishes and glasses before putting them in the dishwasher. Once I noted that the Palmolive dish detergent cleaned everything even when I didn't thoroughly pre-rinse I felt like I could justify stopping this time consuming task.

I prefer gels for most things, because they lather faster and more efficiently than powders and pads. When I find something that works, I stick with it.

Now, I am a believer, I would stick with it for as
long as it does its job, even if the price may be a tad higher than some other brands.

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your Palmolive dishwashing detergent review.

I did some research into this brand of detergent, because on its bottle it says the word "Eco" which suggests to me that it is better for the environment.

Apparently what makes it "eco" according to its manufacturer, Colgate, is that it is phosphate free. Of course, since summer of 2010 most dishwasher detergents are all phosphate free because of new laws and regulations requiring the removal of this ingredient. Other than that, I wouldn't really consider it particularly better for the environment than any other dishwasher detergent brand that is not specifically billed as natural or green.

Has anyone else used this product? If so, I would love to hear if you've had a similar experience to Hillary.
