Gain Sweet Sizzle Fireworks Scent Booster - I Love It!
by Bad Grammy
(Venice, FL)
I've gotten so many reviews of Gain Sweet Sizzle Fireworks Scent Booster that I've had to start another page for all of them. Here's the first one of the new set of reviews:
Bad Grammy says:
I saw an ad for this and decided to try it. I am a widow living alone, no kids or grands nearby, so I can do what I want.
I was given a huge supply of cleaners when I bought my water conditioning system so nothing is scented (except the oatmeal soap). This is a wonderful product!!
I wish I could move my dryer into the living room to maximize the scenting. However, the laundry room is a hall-like room between the house and the garage with doors on both sides so it can get stuffy. This is the answer!!!
Now I have to figure out how much to use so as not to disturb the bridge club....

These Scent Beads From Gain Have A Heavenly Scent
by SR101 Reader
An SR101 reader shared her rating of Gain Fireworks scent beads with me.
SR101 Reader says:
I just bought this product and washed my bed sheets in it and ABSOLUTELY love love LOVE it!
The smell is amazing and lasts for so long. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure not to put too much since the beads do carry an extreme amount of smell.
I give this a product an A- only because the price was a little high ($6.75) but if you are able to find coupons, then definitely try this product. It's amazing.
Taylor says:
Thanks for sharing this review.
I have seen this product in my local stores, such as Walmart, but I cannot seem to find a place online that sells it (at least not for a more excessive price than it goes for in stores). I will keep looking around periodically though, just in case it does become available online.

Gain Sweet Sizzle Smells Horrible
by SR101 Reader
Although the majority of the review of this product have been positive, not all of them are. Here a reader shares what she thinks of the way Gain Fireworks smells.
SR101 Reader says:
I paid $9 yesterday for this product, came home excited to try it, put some in with my laundry and am absolutely DISGUSTED.
Not only does it not smell good, it in fact smells HORRIBLE.
The only way I can explain it is that it smells like a room full of old people. Gross gross gross. The smell makes me want to puke.
Taylor says:
Sorry you hated the scent so much.
I'd love to hear from others who've got an opinion of the way it smells, since many others say they like it.

Gain's Scent Beads Smell Like Original Downy April Fresh Scent
by SR101 Reader
An SR101 reader shared what she thought this scent smelled like.
SR101 reader says:
I'm so excited with this product because it smells just like the Original Downy April Fresh before they changed it to the horrible smell it is now!
I'm going to stock up on it now.
Taylor says:
Thanks for telling me what you think it smells like!
Both Gain and
Downy are manufactured by Procter & Gamble, so it smelling like an old Downy product is not completely outside the realm of possibility, although since they compete with one another it does seem somewhat strange.
Oh well, stranger things have happened, and no matter, I'm glad you like it.
***Update: At least one other person agrees with you. Another reader shared this comment with me:
I love this scent. It is the same scent as the original Downy April Fresh before they changed it a few years ago. So glad someone brought it back!
***End Update

I Use Gain, Downy & Purex's Versions Of Scent Beads All At Once
by Pam
(Utah)
Pam shares how she uses laundry scent boosters, in general.
Pam says:
Oh my, where do I start.....I use all three at once!
I have never enjoyed laundry so much in my life.
Haha
Purex was the first brand I used because of price, I then opened the Gain and
Downy brand beads and loved them!
So basically as I said I mix them all together and almost daily I get a compliment on how great my clothes and house smell after using these beads.
I have to say I spend more money weekly but I keep up on the laundry because of how addicted to these scents I am, and honestly I enjoy laundry.
Thanks for listening. I think I am going to email all three companies and rave about the products. Maybe I will get some coupons mailed to me.
Taylor says:
Thanks for sharing what you do Pam, and I'm glad you are enjoying laundry this way.
It is nice when a task that is necessary can also be pleasant.
I would caution you, however, just to be careful with the amount of scent you're using, just so you don't cause allergic reactions. But, if you haven't experienced any by now, perhaps you just aren't allergic! :)

The Fireworks Bottle Has Shrunk!
by Cheryl
Cheryl has shared her experience with this product.
Cheryl says:
I bought a 13.2 oz bottle of Gain Fireworks at Krogers 3 days ago for $5.39. I love the scent!
So I went back to Krogers today to buy another bottle and this time the bottle was only 9.7 oz for the same price!
I was ripped off and I am not too happy about it. I will be returning the 9.7 oz bottle to Krogers for a refund tomorrow.
Taylor says:
Sorry to hear about that Cheryl.
I wonder if this was the case of Kroger having a sale of the larger bottle of the same price as the smaller bottle, and the sale ended, or the more sinister case of manufacturers trying to pawn off a smaller amount of product for the same price, as a subtle way to increase the price per unit without you noticing?
I'm not sure, just from this experience, which one it was. I would be curious to hear from other readers, sharing if they've noticed the cost per unit of this product going up in price, or a shrinking of bottle size. You can

The Smell Is Too Strong: It Smells Like Thousands Of Dryer Sheets Combined
by SR101 Reader
An SR101 reader shared her opinion of this product.
SR101 reader says:
This product smells too strong!
I felt like I had put 1000
dryer sheets in my dryer today.
It made me sick and I feel like I can taste it and I have a headache!
I used close to a capful (3/4 full) and I probably over-used it. I won't use it again. I am not a fan of the smell of dryer sheets!
Taylor says:
It does sound like you may have overused it, but if you don't like the smell, you just don't like the smell.
On the other hand, if it gave you a headache you may also be suffering from an
allergic reaction to the product. You definitely wouldn't be the first. At the link I've collected more experiences shared with me by readers.
Good luck finding something you like better, and thanks for sharing your opinion with me.

I Never Want To Wash Without These Now
by Angelia
Angelia says:
I am having a hard time finding these!
I was given a bottle and didn't think too much about them, as they did what anything that claims to make clothes smell good did.
But just this past week I ironed a 'last resort' work shirt and as I'm ironing this lovely scent wafted up my nose!!!
That's when I remembered I had used the Fireworks!!
Now I'm on the hunt store to store to find these..never wanna wash without this now.
Taylor says:
Thanks for sharing your experience Angelia.
I have often seen this product in places like Walmart, and they are also available online through websites like Amazon (see the links I've got on the page if you want to buy them there!)

Helps Me Save Money Since I Don't Have To Buy Two Detergents
by SR101 Reader
SR101 Reader says:
I wash for my little sister who is in college and her clothes normally smell awful.
Using this product allows me to use a
sensitive skin laundry detergent for my clothes, and the ability to just sprinkle the Fireworks when I do her laundry.
This saves a lot of money of not having to purchase two types of soap. Great idea.
I will try the other fragrances on my next purchase.
